This sketch is based upon a 1964 photograph which appears in A.M. Rosenthal's book, Thirty-eight Witnesses.  It shows the scene of the first attack as seen from the roof of the Mowbray Apartment Building across Austin Street from the 2 story Tudor Building (shown here).

The New York Times reports that after stabbing Kitty for the first time [No. 3], Moseley walked back toward his car [No. 1] and then returned to stab Kitty again [No. 4].  Notice, as the Times reports, that Moseley's car was parked just a short distance away from the site of the first attack [No. 3]. So, Moseley would have remained directly in Kitty's line of sight.  Thus, to have been attacked again where the Times says [No. 4], Kitty would had to have walked directly toward the man who had just stabbed her in the back.  It is hard to imagine she would have done that unless, as the trial record shows, Moseley had already driven away without a second attack on Austin Street.
