My name is Patrick Henry Cannon and I was born on December 16, 1837. My father was Charles James Cannon and he was a famed author who wrote many novels and poems from 1850-1857.
I became interested in the world of magic and made a career of being a Magician and Conjurer. In the 1860's I wrote a book called "Lessons in Magic" for "Our Young Folks". I wrote a number of other books and used a different pen name as well. You may know me as Harry Hatton. In 1910, I wrote one of the best handbooks on Magic, called "Magicians Tricks".
Using the name Harry Hatton I was one of the organizers of The Society of American Magicians and served two terms as President from 1912 to 1914. My good friend Harry Houdini would also serve as president of this organization.
